Site Block: Block distractions and Boost productivity ("we", "our", or "the extension") helps you improve your focus by blocking distracting websites and optionally synchronizing your focus modes with Google Calendar. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information Site Block accesses, how it is used, and your control over your data.

Data Collection and Storage

Local Data Only

All data collected by Site Block is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s storage.local API. No data is ever transmitted to external servers owned or operated by us, except when you explicitly enable Google Calendar sync.

Site Block stores locally:

• Blocked sites list – Websites you choose to block
• Focus mode schedules – Your configured focus sessions
• Timer settings – Your preferred focus and break durations
• Strict mode passcode – Optional passcode to prevent disabling Site Block
• Mode definitions – Your focus blocks (recurring or one‑off)
• Excluded dates and exception events – Used for recurring mode management
• (Optional) Google Calendar event mapping – A local map between your modes and Google Calendar events, used only for sync

Google Calendar Integration (Optional)

If you choose to enable Google Calendar synchronization, Site Block uses Google’s OAuth 2.0 to request permission to read and write events in a dedicated calendar (named “Site Block”) or your primary calendar (depending on your preference). This is done via Chrome’s secure chrome.identity API.

What is accessed:

• The extension can read and write events in your selected Google Calendar to keep your focus modes and calendar events in sync.
• It only accesses the calendar you explicitly authorize during the OAuth consent flow.

How data is handled:

• No calendar data is sent to any third‑party server. All communication is directly between your browser and Google’s APIs.
• The OAuth token is managed by Chrome and is never stored in extension storage; it is only used temporarily to make API calls.
• You can revoke the extension’s access at any time via your Google Account’s “Third‑party apps with account access” page.

What we do not do:

• We do not store, log, or transmit your calendar events, credentials, or any personal information to our own servers.
• We do not share your calendar data with any third party.

What Site Block Accesses

To provide its core functionality and optional sync, Site Block requires these Chrome permissions:

Storage	To save your settings locally
Identity	(Optional) To authenticate with Google and access account email for Calendar sync
Alarms	To schedule periodic background tasks and timers

Third‑Party Resources

Site Block loads styling and icons from CDNs:

• Boxicons – via unpkg.com
• Materialize CSS – via cdnjs.cloudflare.com

These CDNs may log your IP address and browser information according to their own privacy policies:

No personal data from your Site Block settings is shared with these services.

How Your Data Is Used

Your locally stored data is used only to:

• Enforce your site blocking preferences
• Activate focus mode according to your schedule
• Maintain your timer settings
• Verify your strict mode passcode when needed
• Manage recurring focus modes and exceptions
• (If enabled) Synchronize your modes with Google Calendar

Data Sharing

We do not:

• Transmit your data to external servers (except for the optional Google Calendar sync, which sends data only to Google’s APIs as per your authorization)
• Use analytics or tracking tools
• Share data with advertisers or third parties
• Collect browsing history beyond checking against your block list

Your Rights and Control

You have full control:

• View/Modify – All settings are accessible in the Site Block popup.
• Delete – Uninstalling Site Block automatically removes all locally stored data.
• Revoke Google Calendar access – Go to your Google Account → Security → Third‑party apps with account access → Remove Site Block.
• Clear all settings – Use the “Reset” option within the extension interface.

Children’s Privacy

Site Block is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through Site Block, please contact us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If this policy is updated, the “Effective Date” at the top will be revised. Continued use of Site Block after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
